[EDIT] Hah, lol I forgot to look through the NPCs and there is a keeper. I'm not changing anything, so roll with it.

    It was a somber day outside. Rainy, dark, loud thunder and lighting crackling in the sky. Rose was staring out the window, looking into nothing as all the other lavalings played indoors, loud and more umbrageous than usually due to the weather. Rose felt fine, staring out the window. She didn't mind. Occasionally, a lavaling would invite her to play, she'd decline and continue looking at the lighting. Rose then got bored of it and decided to go play with the others for once. In the middle of playing tag, the lampery keeper pulled her to the side. The other lavalings stopped at stared at her. Some whispered to each other, one said "Ha! Did you get in trouble Rose?" mockingly and laughed. The keeper silenced them and ordered them to apologized (which they didn't) and explained that she was not in trouble. Rose growled and followed the keeper in a private room full of boxes of trinket, accessories and what not.

    "Why am I here?" Rose asked simply. She wanted to go back to play, or maybe take a power nap. But no, instead she was in a room full of stuff witht he keeper.

    "I wanted to tell you something your parents told me to tell you and I think you're able to handle it. You're pretty mature already for such a young lavaling," The keeper responded, looking off to the side with a guilty looking expression. Rose tiled her head.

    "You see Rose... You're parents didn't exactly want you..." The keeper began. Rose's eyes widened in horror, or shock. She doesn't know which. She could feel her eyes starting to tear up. "They gave you up here because they didn't want you because you weren't what they wanted. You weren't the child they wanted. Your parents had a few offspring, searching for the perfect one. I don't know how they would know "perfect" without having the egg hatching, but maybe they have a method. They got rid of their other offspring in the forest, I guess they started feeling bad so they gave you up here." the keeper finished, looking off to the side, still looking guilty. Rose could feel herself shatter. She didn't feel sad that she was given up because a lot of others have been given up because their parents couldn't care for them but Rose was different. Her parents didn't want her, simply because she wasn't what they wanted. She wasn't the perfect lavaling to them. Rose was speechless. All she could do was stare at the keeper while thoughts flooded her mind.

    "That's why you may have noticed that I went a little softer on you and treated you a tiny bit more than the others . It didn't feel right you to treat a rejected lavaling the same as a lavaling who's parents loved and cared for them but they couldn't take care of their lavaling anymore. The way I treat you won't change, but I felt like you needed to know. I felt it was better to let you know young before you're an adult and you some how figure out and get mad at me for not telling you for so long." The keeper added. Rose nodded but stayed silent as tears rolled down her face.

    The keeper told her she could leave and Rose nodded and walked back to her bed, she wanted to make sure no one saw her crying. They can't see here weak. They'll make even more fun of her after she got pulled to the side with the keeper. To a lot of spectators, it looked like she got in trouble and Rose was never in trouble. Rose was the sturdy and obeying kind who didn't break easily. She wanted to keep that reputation up. She needed to.

Now lavaling child has a reason for having an ego, high confidence and blah blah blah
Not sure if that'd affect that but oh well, I needed a backstory for her. This sounds quite mary-sueing but I didn't say that Rose was the only one. She probably isn't and the keeper NPC I just made up off my head would treat them the same too. I just wanted to clear that up that Rose isn't a special little snowflake. I based the keeper's reaction off my own, I'd treat a rejected softer and better by a wee bit.

Anyways, now that that's explained, Rose got head fluff!
